Key Outcomes
The key intended outcomes for the GLFT’s investment in habitat protection are to:
- Develop collaborative, cross-funder investment priorities related to habitat and facilitate coordinated habitat work
- Increase the quantity and consistency of habitat mapping in the Great Lakes
- Inform and influence priorities for habitat conservation and restoration among relevant decision makers and stakeholders, including resource managers, planners, scientists, and policymakers
- Preserve essential habitat; protect, restore, and stabilize important fish habitats; increase habitat availability
- Increase natural reproduction and successful recruitment
